Two more join the cast…
According to Entertainment Weekly, Josh Peck (The Wackness, the Ice Age films) and Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) have signed on to play the parts of Matt Eckert and Toni, respectively, in the remake of Red Dawn. These were the roles played by Charlie Sheen and Jennifer Grey in the 1984 film. Chris Hemsworth was already cast as the lead of Jed Eckert, who in the remake is a Marine home on leave when he combined forces of Chinese and Russian invaders force Jed and his friends into the mountains and eventual guerrilla warfare against their invaders.
Dan Bradley, the second unit director from Bourne Ultimatum will make his directorial debut. The film begins shooting in September of 2009 for a September 24th, 2010 release date.

Very bad idea. The original is a classic that doesn't need a remake. Wolverines!!!!!!!!

Josh Peck from the Amanda show is gonna be a wolverine, what about Hugh Jackman?

The movie could work if instead of Chinese and Russian military invaders they make it a case of martial law and they head to the mountains to take on their own military! That's guaran-damn-tee'd money!

The original was insipid enough... terrible, terrible movie only loved by right-wingers.

Are they still allowed to make a movie where the bad guys are from another country and not a secret evil part of our own government.

"Wjy the Russians and not the plausible North Koreans or Al Queda?"
North Korea has no strategic capability, and Al Queda is a terrorist group, not a full scale army.

(Sarcasm detector going off charts)
Wow, there's a surprise--another remake.

Ridiculous!

They should have this remake take place in south central LA. Lets ee how an invading army does against all the gangs there who probably have just as much fire power.
Like Dennis Miller said , this could never happen. Want to know why? Go to a gun show on the weekend and see what people are buying and taking home .

We should retreat to the mountains and launch guerilla attacks on this remake while it films.
WOLVERINES
